BIOGRAPHY

Deni Kokhanovskii is a young pianist who has gained recognition through his performances and success at international competitions. Currently a student at the Moscow Gnessin School of Music, Deni continues to develop his skills and perform at prominent venues across Russia and Europe.

Born in Moscow on May 26, 2010, Deni began his musical training at the age of six. At nine, he made his orchestral debut with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 8 in C Major, K. 246.

Now he is a student at Moscow's Gnessin School of Music, class of Anna Arzamanova. Deni regularly performs at such renowned venues as the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Moscow Philharmonic, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow, as well as philharmonics in other Russian cities.

He is a multiple award winner in prestigious piano competitions across Europe and Russia.

RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

In 2025:
  • Deni won the XXII International Competition of the Central Music School in Moscow
  • In March he was awarded the Third Prize at the 4th Jeune Chopin international piano competition in Lugano, Switzerland, where the jury was chaired by the legendary Argentine pianist Martha Argerich.

In 2024, Deni won:
  • The ‘Blue Bird’ television competition for young talents, produced by Rossiya-1 TV channel
  • The XIV Sergei Rachmaninov International Contest for Young Pianists in Veliky Novgorod, Russia

In 2023, his accolades included:
  • First Prize (Golden Nutcracker) at the XXIV Nutcracker International Television Contest for Young Musicians (Russia)
  • First Prize & Special Prize for the best performance of Sergei Rachmaninov’s music at the XII Konstantin Igumnov International Piano Competition (Russia)
  • Second Prize & Special Prize at the 5th International Piano Competition Tribute to Elsa Pozzoli – Ettore Pozzoli (Italy)
  • First Prize & Special Prize for Best International Pianist at the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Kronberg (Germany)
  • First Prize winner at the 6th Heinrich Neuhaus Festival for Young Pianists
  • Laureate of the 5th Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Piano Competition

Deni is a recipient of scholarships from both the New Names Foundation (Russia) and the Musical Olympus Foundation (Russia, Switzerland).

BEYOND MUSIC
Outside of music, Deni has a deep love for reading and enjoys watching quality films, both feature-length and documentaries. During the summer, he enjoys spending his time cycling, swimming, and playing ping-pong.
